Christmas at Riddick's Folly

It was a cold night, but that didn't stop more than 150 people from attending Riddick's Folly's new holiday program, Christmas at Riddick's Folly. The line of visitors wrapped around the building, and their cars quickly overflowed even our large parking lot.

Award-winning playwright Sheri Bailey partnered with Riddick's Folly to pen the script for a new Christmas tour. This tour led visitors from the uncertain Christmas of 1860, through the dark Christmases of the Civil War, to the first Christmas of Reunion and Reconstruction in 1865. The restored bedrooms, parlors, and servants' spaces served as stages for the scenes of this interactive, theatrical production featuring costumed actors and actresses and period decorations.

We were pleased to welcome the Brass Choir from Old Dominion University to play holiday music throughout the evening.
